We Have An Appointment!!

We called Ukraine at 3:30 this morning and were told our appointment is December 7th!!

Matt and I are still in shock, and needless to say, have got a lot to do to get ready.

The lady we spoke to at the SDA couldn't have been nicer and spoke perfect English- so maybe that's a good sign for what's in store for us when we get there.

For everyone who isn't familiar with what will happen once we get there- here's a brief explanation.

Matt and I will have our appointment, we will review files of children available for adoption. Once we make our choice, we will travel to the orphange where our child(ren) will be and meet them. From there we run around getting paperwork completed and having a court date set.

Once we have the court date and everything is approved by the judge, there is a mandatory 10 day waiting period. After that 10 day wait, we can take custody of the kids, they have a medical examination in Kyiv and we get their visas from the Embassy.

From there, we come home. The whole process should take between 3 and 4 weeks, and obviously I'm over simplifying the process but I've got serious packing to do!

Keep checking in- we'll post more info as we have it, and of course once we get to Ukraine in

24 Days!!!!!!!

Hey, Mr. (and Mrs.) Sicilian, it's Lee. Have a safe trip, and when you find out the children you're going to adopt, please post a pic. Oh yeah, and Mr. Sicilian, enjoy iTunes. :P

P.S. Mom says hi.
